Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026. This policy explains what we collect and why. In plain English: we keep as little as possible.
Who we are
Pixel AI Pet (“we”, “us”) is a small independent software product. For any privacy question, email support@pixelaipet.co.uk.
What we collect
- Your email address — provided by PayPal when you buy, used to send your licence key and support you.
- Your licence key and purchase record — the key, the PayPal order id, amount, and date, so we can deliver and validate your purchase.
- An anonymous machine id — a random identifier your app generates per computer, used only to enforce the “up to 3 PCs” activation limit. It is not linked to your name and tells us nothing about your device.
- Your pet’s sync state (only if you use the same key on more than one PC) — your pet’s progress (age, bond, mood) and app settings, tied to your licence key so your pet stays the same across your devices. No documents, files, or browsing data — just the pet.
- Anonymous usage counts — the app periodically sends the random machine id above plus your app version and whether you’re on Lite or Full, so we can see roughly how many people run it and keep it working. No personal data, no screen or file access.
We do not collect your name, address, or any payment-card details. PayPal handles the payment and card data as an independent controller — we never see your card number.
Why we can hold it (lawful basis)
We process the above because it is necessary to fulfil our contract with you — to deliver the software licence you paid for and to validate it. We keep purchase records as needed for our legal and tax obligations.
The app itself
Pixel AI Pet runs on your computer. Your settings, chosen pet and pet’s “memory” live on your PC. The app contacts our server only to (a) activate/validate your licence key, (b) check for updates, and (c) — if you use the same licence key on more than one PC — sync your pet’s progress and settings across your devices so your pet stays the same everywhere (optional to use, tied to your key, pet progress/settings only). Optional online features (such as meme delivery, AI pet chat, and the opt-in “Peek at my screen”) reach third-party sources only when you enable and use them. If you set up AI chat with your own API key, your messages — and, only if you tap “Peek at my screen”, a single downscaled screenshot — are sent to the AI provider you chose, not to us, and are not stored by the app.
Sharing
We don’t sell your data. We share only with the providers needed to run the service: PayPal (payment) and our email/hosting provider (to send your key and host the site). Each processes data on our behalf or as required for the payment.
Retention
We keep your licence and purchase record for as long as your licence is valid and as long as we’re legally required to keep sales records. Ask us to delete your email from our records at any time — we can do that while retaining the minimal purchase record the law requires.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to restrict its use. Email support@pixelaipet.co.uk and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. PayPal’s checkout may set its own cookies when you use it — see PayPal’s privacy policy.
